Men’s Tennis Falls 4-0 to Jacksonville State on Tuesday

The Chattanooga Mocs men’s tennis team dodged rain drops during its battle against longtime foe Jacksonville State.

CHATTANOOGA (March 10, 2026) – The Chattanooga Mocs men's tennis team dropped a 4-0 decision to Jacksonville State during non-conference action on a cloudy Tuesday afternoon outdoors at the UTC Tennis Center on campus.
 
The match, which was delayed one hour from its original start time, was played in a clinch-clinch format due to potential weather implications.

Match Notes
- Chattanooga falls to 5-7 overall after today's defeat… Jacksonville State improves to an impressive 11-2 this season… JSU has now won the last four in the series… seven of the last eight.
- Head coach Chuck Merzbacher sits at 99 victories during his Chattanooga tenure… now 99-100 in ninth season… will look for win No. 100 at UTC in match No. 200 next time out (Friday at Belmont).

Jacksonville State's Aman Dahiya and Lucius Soller defeated Chattanooga's Jakub Jupa and Carter Ramthun 6-3 on court No. 2 to open doubles play. JSU's Alin Fatu and Charlie Penman posted a 6-1 triumph over Cortland Grove and Sebastian Johnson at No. 3 to clinch the doubles point for the Gamecocks.
 
In singles play, Jacksonville State extended its lead with a win at No. 4 where Marko Milosavljevic dispatched Kincses 6-1, 6-2. At No. 2, Krasner added another point with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Franzmann before the match-clinching point came when Fatu secured a win at No. 6 behind a 6-3, 6-4 decision over Ramthun.
