GAME ONE: Chattanooga 8, UL Monroe 11
The Mocs totaled 11 hits, highlighted by a standout performance from
Chloe Lackey, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, including a two‑run double in the sixth and a three‑run homer down the left‑field line in the seventh.
Baileigh Pitts added two hits and a double, while
Raven Jones,
Zoe Wright,
Abi Bunt, and
Anna Dovey each drove in a run or reached multiple times.
Â
After falling behind 3–0 in the first, Chattanooga chipped away with a run in the fifth before exploding for four runs in the sixth—a rally fueled by Lackey's two‑run double and an RBI single from Jones. The Mocs added three more in the seventh on Lackey's home run to pull within striking distance.
Â
ULM countered with timely extra‑base hits of its own, including a two‑run double from Morgan Brown and a two‑run homer by Dally Engle. The Warhawks scored in six of their seven innings.
Â
Freshman
Emery Bales took the loss after allowing five runs (three earned) over 3.0 innings.
Sophia Guerra worked the final 3.0 frames in relief.
Â
GAME TWO: Chattanooga 2, Central Arkansas 10 // 5 innings
The Mocs struck first in the top of the opening inning when
Ava Cowart, who reached on a leadoff walk, came around to score on
Baileigh Pitts' RBI single up the middle and a subsequent outfield error. Chattanooga added its second run in the fifth on a Pitts sacrifice fly, but the early offense wasn't enough to keep pace.
Â
Central Arkansas answered quickly with three runs in the first, highlighted by a three‑run homer, and never relinquished control. The Bears added runs in the second, fourth, and fifth innings, fueled by timely extra‑base hits including four doubles and a multi‑RBI performance from Kaitlyn Graham, who drove in four.
Â
Chattanooga collected five hits in the game—two from Pitts and two from Cowart—but struggled to generate sustained pressure against UCA starter Sara Currie, who allowed just one earned run and struck out three in a complete‑game effort.
Â
Senior
Taylor Long took the loss after three innings of work, while
Sophia Guerra pitched the final 1.2 innings in relief.
Â
The Mocs fall to 10-15-1 on the season and return home to host Kennesaw State on Tuesday, March 17 for Military Appreciation Day. American Flag Power C T-shirts will be given away at the gate to a limited number of fans.
