CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - The Chattanooga Volleyball team added another key piece to its 2026 team this week, as Emily Geaquinto, a freshman transfer from Santa Fe College, has signed with the Mocs. The Boca Raton, Florida native played both setter and outside hitter in her one season of junior college, but is expected to be used primarily as a setter for the Blue and Gold.
"Emily is a great addition to our team in the setting position. She brings a high level of competitiveness and athleticism, along with an impressive resume," said Head Coach
Julie Torbett Thomas. "We've really valued having three setters on the roster and have found ways to utilize each of them within our system. I also appreciate the perspective she brings—coming from a family with high-level athletic experience, she understands the commitment, work ethic, and competitive mindset it takes to succeed at the collegiate level."
Geaquinto, listed at six feet, tallied 197 assists (2.37 per set), 174 digs (2.10 per set), and 151 kills (1.82 per set) this past season at Santa Fe College. She posted three double-doubles for the year, and one triple-double (10 kills, 13 assists, 12 digs) in a win over St. Johns River State on September 9.Â
She attended high school at Saint John Paul II Academy and was a standout player for the Eagles. During her high school career she was a nominee for the Mid-Season Player of the Year and Player of the Year for her region. She was coached by Maureen Wallace as Saint John Paul II went 14-10 in her senior year.Â
Emily's parents are Kimberly and Wilson Geaquinto. Kimberly is a former collegiate athlete herself, having played four years on the Women's Tennis team at the University of Kentucky.Â
