CHATTANOOGA (April 17, 2026) — The No. 3 seed Chattanooga Mocs men's tennis team had its 2026 spring campaign end with a 4-0 defeat to No. 2 Samford during the Southern Conference Championship semifinal round on a sunny Friday afternoon at Champions Club in Chattanooga.

• Chattanooga ends the season 11-12 overall after the defeat… Samford improved to 16-6 after the victory… UTC the Bulldogs have now won the last seven matches in the all-time series.
• Chattanooga appeared in the SoCon semifinals for the fourth time over the past five seasons… first time since 2024… last semifinal win and championship match appearance came in 2023 following the program's first-ever SoCon regular season title.

 
Match Recap
In doubles, UTC's Jaxon Lamb and Carter Ramthun suffered a 6-1 defeat to Lukas Dvorak and Cooper Errey at No. 3 in the first finished match of the session. Samford's Sandeep Mohandoss and Darcy Nicholls clinched the team point with a 6-4 victory over Cortland Grove and Jakub Jupa at No. 1.
 
In singles, Samford extended its lead with a swift victory at No. 2 as Nicholls defeated Julian Franzmann 6-0, 6-3. The second completed singles match saw Lamb drop a 4-6, 2-6 contest to Errey on court No. 6, giving Samford a healthy 3-0 lead in the overall match.
 
Samford's Sebastian Harrison clinched the match for Samford with a 6-4, 6-3 winner over the Mocs' Martin Delnido at the No. 3 slot. All other matches went unfinished as the match was played under the "first-to-four" tournament format.
