Men’s Tennis Signs Tennessee Prospect Alejandro Conde to 2026-27 Roster

The Chattanooga Mocs men’s tennis team secured a commitment from Mt. Juliet native Alejandro Conde to next year’s roster.

CHATTANOOGA (April 28, 2026) – The Chattanooga Mocs men's tennis program and head coach Chuck Merzbacher have announced the signing of scholastic prospect and Mount Juliet, Tenn., native Alejandro Conde to next year's 2026-27 roster.

Conde, a product of Wilson Central HS in middle Tennessee, will join the program as a true freshman in the fall of 2026 and will carry immediate eligibility.

A four-star prospect according to Tennis Recruiting Network, Conde peaked at No. 95 in the class of 2026 national rankings and is one of just five Tennessee natives to hold a four-star, five-star or blue-chip ranking within the current graduating class. His highest national ranking hit No. 94 in December of 2025.

Conde has excelled at Wilson Central HS and recently helped the squad capture the Modern Woodmen Invitational doubles title in Mount Juliet back in March. Conde took the reigning TSSAA Class AA state champion to the brink in a singles match two weeks ago and will look to make a run of his own towards a state title later this spring.

Conde made a quarterfinals appearance in the 2025 UTR Sports College Circuit at Tennessee event in Athens back in October, claiming a straight-set win in the round of 16 over a fellow nationally ranked prospect before nearly upsetting a top 50 caliber prospect.

Conde chose Chattanooga over in-state programs Belmont and Lipscomb; among other Division I programs around the country. Conde is one of two Volunteer State natives, joining Jaxon Lamb (Hendersonville), expected on next year's roster.
