GULF SHORES, Ala. - The Chattanooga Beach Volleyball team came to the National Collegiate Beach Volleyball Championship as the No. 16 seed, matched up against top-ranked Stanford. With the tough challenge ahead of them, the Sandy Mocs gave it their all, but ultimately fell short to the Cardinal 3-0.Â
Chattanooga played in front of a nationally televised audience on ESPN2 and in front of a packed crowd on the Gulf Shore beaches. The Sandy Mocs specifically played some close sets in the No. 1, No. 2, and No. 4 pairs against the national powerhouse Stanford.Â
UTC finishes the season with a 24-5 record, with its 24 wins being the second most in program history. The Sandy Mocs drop to 0-3 all-time in the NCAA Tournament. Stanford moves to 37-4 on the year and will play No. 8 California in the Quarterfinals tomorrow.Â
Stanford picked up its first point of the morning on Court 5, as Elena Fisher and Chloe Hoffman downed

Madeline McCabe 21-8, 21-8.Â
Shortly afterwards, the Cardinal went ahead 2-0 after Indigo Clark and Clara Stowell defeated

Stanford clinched its spot in the Quarterfinals on Court 3, as Charlotta Bell and Logan Tusher defeated

Opening Statement
"I think overall we had a little bit of a slow start, which was a little surprising. However, Clark and McKenny were big, starting strong, and they got to the tech timeout at 12-9. You know, I mentioned, obviously, the fight of our ones and twos taking it to 18-18 and 17-15 in the second sets, like, just to see them not back down, going into that second set, and getting after it was great. I think it's just shows what this team's about, and they're never going to quit, and they're going to enjoy competing with the best of the country, and, I think that's what makes it fun for me, is that we're all D1 athletes, we might not be as big in size as they are, but we know the game really well. In this opportunity, we just go give them everything we have and see what happens."
