The Chattanooga Mocs sent two to Philadelphia, Pa., for the 126th United States Amateur. The duo of senior Ward Harris and sophomore Evan Rogers competed over 36 holes of medal play over Monday and Tuesday; first at Philadelphia Country Club and then at famed Merion Golf Club.
 
Harris claimed a coveted top 64 spot to move onto match play. He shot 68 on day one and followed with 73 today for a 1-over par 141. That tied for 33rd, one shot clear of the cutline
 
Rogers fell just shy shooting 145. He opened with 72 and came back with 73 as well at Merion. Rogers started the day on the 2-over cutline and battled throughout the day. He was on the line through 14 today but bogeyed three of the final four holes.
