Watts Alexander and the Chattanooga Mocs prepare not only for the 2026 season. but they’re also readying for Football Fan Fest presented by FirstBank.

Overview
The Chattanooga Mocs have started preparations for the 2026 campaign. The athletics department plans a couple of community activations in the lead up to the season opener on Thursday, August 27, at West Georgia.

The first is a week in advance of that first-ever meeting with the Wolves. The 2026 Football Fan Fest presented by FirstBank returns to Finley Stadium followed the next night by the annual UTC Night at the Lookouts at the new Erlanger Park.

Football Fan Fest presented by First Bank
Thursday, August 20, 6:30-9:30 pm | Finley Stadium
Fan Entrance: St. Elmo Gate | Student Entrance: via Pavilion
Gates open at 6:30 p.m., with the team scheduled to arrive an hour later. The Mocs take the field for a scrimmage providing fans with a first peek of the exciting season ahead for the program.

Another highlight to the evening is the launch of Mocs Gold Lager by Chattanooga's own brewery, Riverside Beverage Co. That happens at the gates open on the south concourse towards the pavilion side of the stadium.

The night ties in perfectly with "Operation Move In" on campus as the new class of Mocs arrive on August 19-20 to check into dorms and begin preparations for the new semester. Student tailgating occurs in the pavilion as well with games, food and more.

UTC Night at the Lookouts
Friday, August 21, 7 pm | Erlanger Park
The annual UTC Night at the Lookouts takes place as Chattanooga squares off with the Birmingham Barons. Chancellor Dr. Lori Mann Bruce is throwing out the first pitch, while the marketing and ticketing staffs are on hand at the UTC table on the concourse with members of the spirit squad with FREE Mocs swag. Tickets are on sale here via the Lookouts. There is also a special Lookouts Football Jersey Ticket Package here on their site.

Quotable
"This is a great opportunity for our fans to get a sneak peak at this year's team. Coach Rusty Wright and his staff did a great job at retention and finding the right guys to add to the mix. We're excited to get the year started." – Vice Chancellor for Athletics Mark Wharton

"The timing with Operation Move-In couldn't have worked out better. Welcoming new students to campus while also introducing them to our team and facilities makes Football Fan Fest a fantastic way to begin the 2026-27 year. We're thankful for our campus partners who helped make this event possible and continue building the spirit of being a Moc." – Wharton

Mocs Gold Lager Launch
From Riverside Collective:
At Riverside Collective, we believe the best things are built locally. That's why partnering with Chattanooga athletics to create UTC Mocs Gold Lager means so much to us. This isn't just another lager. It's a beer brewed by local people, for local people.

It's crafted to be approachable, refreshing and worthy of every game day, every celebration, every gathering with friends and every moment that reminds us why Chattanooga is home. Our hope is that Mocs Gold Lager becomes more than a beer; it becomes a tradition. A beer that's raised after every victory, shared during every tailgate, enjoyed after a long week and remembered as something that brought people together.

Whether you're a student, an alumnus, a lifelong Mocs fan or simply someone who loves supporting local, this beer belongs to all of us. Here's to the victories we chase, the memories we create, the friendships we build and the community that makes it all possible.

Here's to the Mocs!
