2013-14 • FRESHMAN SEASON (NEBRASKA): Produced a solid season in seven open tournaments, where he compiled a 24-8 record at 174 pounds ... collected eight pins, three major decisions and one technical fall as a redshirt freshman … placed in five tournaments, claiming the titles at the Bob Smith Open and Cusatis Open ... finished second at the Viking-Warrior Open, third at the Nebraska-Kearney Holiday Inn Open and fourth at the Warren Williamson/Daktronics Open.
2012-13 • REDSHIRT SEASON (NEBRASKA): Competed at 174 pounds and compiled a 25-12 record as a redshirt … notched nine pins, one technical fall and three major decisions, earning three top-five open tournament finishes … after taking fourth at the Nebraska-Kearney Holiday Inn Open, took runner-up honors at the Bob Smith Open before finishing third at the UNK Loper Open.
HIGH SCHOOL: First recruit to join the Husker program from the state of Tennessee since Matt Keller, also eventually transferred to UTC, in 2002-03 … two-time state placer at the DI Tennessee state wrestling championships, including a first-place finish his junior season at 160 pounds … finished his junior year with a 51-2 record and won the Most Outstanding Wrestler award in his division for his efforts on the mat … dominant during his state championships season, recording 157 takedowns, 23 pins and 11 technical falls … third at the state championships as a sophomore, which helped him reach his 129 career win total … two-time NHSCA All-American, including a second-place finish in 2009 as a freshman.
