2012-13 • JUNIOR SEASON: Won the SoCon title at 149 pounds ... member of the All-SoCon Team ... finished with a 16-7 overall record ... went 10-4 in dual matches and 6-0 in SoCon action ... defeated Iowa’s Brody Grothus (8-2) in the dual match with the Hawkeyes ... won a match at the NCAA Championships, a 10-5 devision over Iowa State’s Max Mayfield ... made the Dean’s List in the fall and the A.D. PRIOR TO UTC: 2009 graduate of Sprayberry High School in Marietta, Ga., where he was a four-year letter winner on the wrestling team for head coach Gary Jehaven...three-time state champion with a 187-6 career record in high school...won 112 class as a sophomore, 125 as a junior and 145 as a senior...finished third in the state at 103 as a freshman...school record holder as a cross country athlete...also a four-year member of the cross country team...placed 6th in the state as a senior...also on the honor roll and a scholar athlete.
