The Southern Conference recently announced its 2008-09 Spring Academic All-Conference team, and a total of 23 Mocs student-athletes were named to the team.
The 23 student-athletes represented Chattanooga's spring sports, including men's and women's golf, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's outdoor track and field and softball.
The Mocs had two of the four Southern Conference student-athletes who carried a perfect 4.0 GPA into the spring semester. That list includes track and field junior David Moore, women's golf junior Katie Taylor along with Georgia Southern softball player Amanda Glover and Appalachian State baseball player David Towarnicky.
To be eligible for recognition on the SoCon Academic All-Conference Team, a student-athlete must possess at least a 3.2 cumulative grade point average entering the spring season.
