Clay Isbell

Clay Isbell enters his third season with the Mocs. Isbell was previously a defensive quality control coach. He stepped into a more prominent role as defensive graduate assistant in 2019 assisting with the inside linebackers and special teams. 

Isbell was a three-year starter as a fullback at Kentucky Wesleyan. In the spring of 2017, he started his coaching career at Kentucky Wesleyan helping on the offensive side of the ball in the backfield.

Before coaching, Isbell was a direct support professional working with adults and children with intellectual disabilities, mainly focusing on children with intellectual disabilities. He also likes to volunteer in his hometown at the STEP ACADEMY to help individuals step towards excellence in the classroom and their desired sport. 

Isbell, a native of Franklin County in Tenn., is a 2017 graduate of Kentucky Wesleyan College with a B.S. in Exercise Science and Philosophy and Ethical Studies.  He's is working towards a Masters in Criminal Justice.
