- Devonnsha Maxwell led the SoCon in sacks (12.0) and tackles for loss (15.5) in 2021
- 2013 Tennessee State team was Black College National Champions
- Reached the FCS Playoffs for the sixth time in school history in 2013 defeating Butler before losing to Eastern Illinois
- His defensive front helped lead the Tigers to some nationally eye-popping numbers in 2013: 296 yards per game total offense, 32 turnovers forced and just 18.1 points per contest
