Collin Crane

Collin Crane joined Matt McCall’s staff heading athletics performance efforts in April 2015 for the Chattanooga Mocs men’s basketball program along with women's golf and men's tennis. Crane is no stranger to McCall as the two previously worked together at the University of Florida.

Crane is a native of east Tennessee. Originally from Knoxville, Tenn., he played collegiately at Carson-Newman (2010-13) in Jefferson City earning a degree in Exercise Science. A four-year starter and three-time captain, the squad’s season-ending award was renamed the Collin Crane Leadership Award in his honor.

He comes to the Scenic City from Missouri State where he was assistant strength and conditioning coach for the Bears working with men’s basketball, tennis and golf. The prior two seasons, he served as assistant strength and conditioning coach with the basketball program at UF.

The Gators went 65-11 over those two campaigns with Elite Eight (2013) and Final Four (2014) appearances. He assisted efforts with former UF standouts such as Bradley Beal, Chandler Parsons, Eric Murphy and Patric Young as well as several active alums in the professional ranks during their offseason.

A firm believer in video, strength and diet analysis, he is a certified specialist by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and also has professional CPR and first aid certification. Crane is also fully trained and certified in the Biosignature Modulation Level I program, an integrated system to track an athlete's body composition and nutritional needs.

He prepped at Karns High School competing in basketball and track. Collin was a two-time all-district performer and team MVP for the Beavers. He comes from a strong basketball background as his father, Keith, was a standout player at Maryville (Tenn.) College, while his brother Cameron also played at Maryville.

He is married to the former Courtney Lawson.
