Scott Greenman

Alma Mater: Princeton '06
Hired Date: April 2022 (Assistant Coach)
Elevated Date: June 2025 (Associate Head Coach)

Scott Greenman enters his fourth overall season at Chattanooga ahead of the 2025-26 season and first under an Associate Head Coach title after earning an elevation from an assistant title in June 2025. Coaching under current head coach Dan Earl for his first three seasons at UTC, Greenman has helped the Mocs compile a 68-38 (.642) overall record and a 34-20 (.629) mark in Southern Conference play over that span.

Chattanooga claimed its first-ever National Invitation Tournament (NIT) title after finishing the 2024-25 season with a 29-9 overall record, matching the most wins for the program in single-season history. The Mocs also claimed the SoCon regular season title behind a 15-3 conference record, the second-most league wins in a single season for the program.

UTC finished the 2024-25 season winning 17 of its final 18 games which included 10-straight wins in true road contests, the longest such streak in program history. UTC's 12 true road victories in 2024-25 was second most among all NCAA Division I teams for the season while the 12-game total matched a program record previously set in 2021-22.

Before Chattanooga, Greenman served nine years on staff at American University of the Patriot League under head coach Mike Brennan. He served as an assistant for eight of the nine years before completing the 2021-22 season as an associate head coach.

Greenman joined the American University men's basketball staff in 2013-14 and was responsible for all aspects of the program during his tenure. His recruiting successes at American saw seven players in seven-straight seasons land on the Patriot League All-Rookie team including the 2016 and 2021 Rookie of the Year honorees.

In addition to finding young talent, Greenman played a vital role in recruiting 2019-20 Patriot League Player of the Year Sa'eed Nelson. Nelson finished his career as American's all-time leading scorer and was named a Lou Henson All-American.

The Eagles have gone 7-8 in the Patriot League Conference Tournament over Greenman's nine seasons on staff. He helped lead American to back-to-back Patriot League Tournament Championship game appearances which includes a 55-36 win over top-seeded Boston in 2013-14, claiming the program's third Patriot League Championship and advancing to the NCAA Tournament.

Greenman was named the No. 3 assistant coach in the Patriot League during his tenure at American by basketball insider Jeff Goodman of Stadium. In addition to those laurels, he was named to the Top 50 Most Impactful Low Major Assistants in the Country by Silver Waves Media and was an atendee at the Jay Bilas Coaches Leadership Program in June of 2021.

Prior to American, Greenman spent three seasons at Georgetown, being promoted to Director of Basketball Operations after just one season with the Hoyas. Greenman was involved in all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the program including scouting, film breakdown, on-campus recruiting and camps.

Greenman also served as an assistant coach at his alma mater Princeton from 2007-10, where he helped the Tigers to one of the biggest two-year turnarounds in program history. He helped build the program into an NCAA Tournament team when Princeton secured the 2011 Ivy League Championship following his efforts for the previous three years.

In 2009, Greenman was selected as the head coach of the U.S.A. U-18 Maccabiah Team. The team spent the month of July in Israel competing in the Maccabiah Games, where they won a silver medal.

Greenman spent the 2006-07 season playing professionally in Israel for B'nei Ha'sharon, helping lead his team to a final four finish in both the Israeli Premier League Championship and the Israeli Cup.

Greenman played collegiately at Princeton from 2002-06 for former Georgetown head coach John Thompson III. In his senior year, Greenman was named a unanimous first-team All-Ivy selection in 2006 and named to the Academic All-Ivy League Team. During Greenman's sophomore year, he started every game and made a team-high 42 three-pointers en route to helping Princeton win the Ivy League and reach the 2004 NCAA tournament.

Greenman earned a bachelor's degree in sociology from Princeton in June 2006. He currently resides in Chattanooga, Tenn., with his wife Caitlin and their three sons, Jordan, Brayden, and Eli.
