SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- The Lady Mocs' soccer squad tallied two late goals Friday night to shutout Wofford 2-0 on the Terriers Senior Night at Snyder Field in Southern Conference action. Chattanooga improves to 1-9-2 overall and 1-4-1 in league action while the Terriers are 5-8-2 overall and 1-4-1 in the SoCon.
The Lady Mocs scored twice in the second half to net their first win of the season. Freshman Katie Page (Ooltewah, Tenn.) put Chattanooga on the board at the 82:01 mark when she beat the Wofford defense and sent a shot past the Terrier's keeper Katie McChesney for the game's first score.
Sophomore Cassie Bowman (Carson City, Nev.) scored her first goal of the season and put the Lady Mocs up 2-0 with less than a minute to play in the game. With a Terrier defender on her back, Bowman turned and fired a shot over McChesney and into the back of the net for the final margin.
The Terriers outshot the Lady Mocs 17-7 and held a 10-3 second half advantage. Freshman keeper Milla Junni (Hyvinkaa, Finland) tallied eight saves on the season and registered her second career shutout.
Chattanooga will host the College of Charleston Sunday afternoon at the North River Soccer Complex at 2 p.m. in league action.
