Lady Mocs Tied For First Place After Day Two

Chattanooga, Tenn. ? Sophomore Ashley Cuticchia (Rising Fawn, Ga.) hit a one-run triple in the bottom of the third to lead the Lady Mocs on the offensive front, but Maine tallied 10 hits to hand Chattanooga its first loss of the tournament with a score of 5-2.

The Lady Mocs are 3-1 in tournament play and are in a three-way tie with Bowling Green and Sunday's opponent, Miami of Ohio.

Cuticchia went two-for-three, scoring the lone run in the first inning. Senior Alyssa Edwards (Geneva, N.Y.) had one hit and the RBI that scored Cuticchia, extending her hitting streak to three games.

Maine's Jennifer Puccini hit the three-run game-winning home run in the top of the third and led the team in RBIs with two hits on three at bats.

The Lady Mocs host Miami (Ohio) in the final game of the Panera Bread Challenge Sunday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. at Frost Stadium.
