Chattanooga, Tenn. ? Sophomore Laci Upchurch (Madison, Tenn.) hit the game winning two RBI double to right center to seal the Lady Mocs' 11-3 victory over the Mississippi State Bulldogs Saturday evening.

Senior first baseman Alyssa Edwards (Geneva, N.Y.) recorded her second home run of the season on a 0-1 count, starting the swinging of the bats in the bottom of the fourth, driving freshman short stop Tia Blosser (Knoxville, Tenn.) in after Blosser reached on a single.

The Lady Mocs (10-9) allowed three runs in the first two innings off of three hits, three walks and two errors allowing the Bulldogs to take an early 3-0 lead.

But the tables turned in the bottom of the fourth. Mississippi State's starting pitcher, Kelsey Nurnberg, faced eight batters to start the inning allowing four hits and one walk before Sara Hickerson stepped into the circle for the Bulldogs.

But the hits kept coming with Hickerson facing four more batters before retiring the inning. Senior left fielder Jeannie Cochran (Maryville, Tenn.) led the second attack with a single followed by a triple by sophomore Ashley Cuticchia (Rising Fawn, Ga.) to drive in Cochran and freshman catcher Lynleigh Hurndon (McDonough, Ga.) making the score 7-3.

Blosser drove in Cuticchia to make the score at the end of the inning 8-3. Blosser went three-for-three with one run and one RBI to improve her batting average to .319 on the season.

The Bulldogs changed pitchers again, putting their starting third baseman into the circle at the bottom of the fifth. But the Lady Mocs' bats came alive again with sophomore third baseman Toni Hutchison tallying a hit followed by the game winning double by Upchurch to drive in two runs.

Junior right fielder Tara Tembey (Folsom, Calif.) reached base by a walk and advanced to second on an error before scoring on a Hurndon sacrifice fly to center field, the ninth run of the game for the Lady Mocs.

Freshman pitcher Brooke Loudermilk (Locust Grove, Ga.) captured her seventh win of the season, the first win in an eight-run-rule situation.

Mississippi State was led by Hayle Guess, who went two-for-two with one run. Blair Geddings also had one hit on one at bat and one run. Courtney Bures had the team's other run.

The Lady Mocs close out the 2007 Frost Classic against Illinois-Chicago at 1:30 p.m. and Oakland at 3:45 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
