RICHMOND, Ky. --- The men's tennis team relied on its depth Friday to defeat Eastern Kentucky 4-2 in a non-conference match.

Despite losing at the top two singles positions, the Mocs captured singles wins at No. 3, 4 and 5 and, combined with the doubles point win, pulled out the 4-2 victory.

Chattanooga notched victories at the first and third doubles spots to earn the doubles point and a 1-0 lead.  The Colonels, 3-3, tied the score with Alex Das Izquierdo's 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 1 singles.

EKU also scored a win at No. 2 singles, but Pavel Vostrikov secured the team victory with a 7-5, 6-4 win at No. 4 over Johannes John.  Peter Sauska registered a 7-5, 6-2 win over Mel Segota at No. 3, and freshman Robert Diamond earned his first career singles win by defeating Fred Goncalves at No. 6, 6-4, 6-3.

The Mocs were scheduled to play Indiana State Friday night and will face Wright State Saturday afternoon.  All three matches are being played at the Greg Adams Indoor Tennis Center near the EKU campus.
