BOX SCORE AND PLAY-BY-PLAY

DAVIDSON, N.C. --- Davidson (10-15, 9-7 SoCon) used a 9-0 run over the final two minutes of overtime and outscored the Lady Mocs 19-10 in the period to grab an 89-80 win over Chattanooga (19-7, 15-2 SoCon) at Belk Arena Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Mocs down 42-30 at halftime, trailed most of the game and didn't take the lead until 4:45 on a drive from Shanara Hollinquest gave Chattanooga a 62-61 advantage. The score would bounce back and forth the remainder of the half before the Wildcats would get a three point lead.

Alex Thompson hit the front end of a pair of free throws to give Davidson the 70-67 lead with just 37 ticks on the clock. Erin Ogan would foul Kristen Johnsen under the UTC basket after a missed shot with 17 seconds to play, but Johnsen would miss the front end of a one-and-one and Ogan buried her career-high fourth three of the game from the top of the key to tie the game and force overtime.

However, in overtime the Wildcats would hit every shot including three from beyond the 3-point arc and hand the Lady Mocs just their second Southern Conference loss of the year.

Shanara Hollinquest and Jenaya Wade-Fray led the Lady Mocs with 20 points each as four Chattanooga players hit for double figures. Ogan just missed her career-high with 17 points while LaCondra Mason tallied her first double-double of the year with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Six Davidson players scored in double figures with Monica Luane leading her team with a career-high 20 points in her first start. Mercedes Robinson, 18 points and nine rebounds, and Julia Paquette, 12 points and nine boards, each just missed a double-double.

The Wildcats went 33-63 (52.4%) from the floor including nine 3-pointers, but shot just 63.6 percent from the free throw line. Chattanooga tied its season-best with 11 3-pointers, but went just 25-66 (37.9%) from the floor and was 19-of-26 from the free throw line.

The Lady Mocs had just 10 turnovers in the game and scored 10 points off Wildcat miscues. Davidson rebounded the Lady Mocs 45-36 and scored 17 second chance points on just 11 offensive rebounds.

Chattanooga will remain on the road this weekend and travel to Boone, N.C., to take on Appalachian State at 5 p.m. Monday at the Holmes Convocation Center.
