Lady Mocs, de Groot Claim Second Win of the Year

UTC's 283 broke the previous school record of 288 set last season and this one at the Chris Banister Classic. The round was powered by sophomore Emma de Groot who fired three par or better rounds to win medalist honors by four shots over
de Groot shot rounds of 72, 71 and 69 to finish at four-under par 212. Her final round 69 is her low round of the year in claiming her second win this season, fourth career.
Two Lady Mocs freshmen finished in the top as Moa Duf finished in fifth and Maria Juliana Loza sixth. Duf, in just her second collegiate event, finished with a two-over par score of 218 with a final round 71 (-1).
Maju Loza matched Duf with a 71 of her own today to shoot 219, three-over par. She posted two par or better rounds for the event which doubles her total for the season entering the event. The 71 is season-low round.
Maria Salinas struggled with a final round 78 (+6) to finish at 223 (+7), tied for 13th. Christine Wolf tied for 31st at 229 (+13) shooting 72 (E) over the final 18. Her even-par round is her best score since shooting 71 in the final round of the Chris Banister Classic in Sept.
The Lady Mocs (866) won by 13 shots over its nearest competitor,
