Softball Off to North Carolina for First Road Conference Series

| By:
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The Lady Mocs have begun to play their best softball of the season just at the right time. Chattanooga (11-11/3-0 SoCon) has won six games in a row, including a three-game sweep of conference foe Furman this past weekend. Tiffany Baker provided the offense during the weekend, hitting .600 with a home run and driving in two runs.

The UTC pitching staff was near perfection as the team allowed only one unearned run in the set. Michelle Fuzzard threw the second complete-game shutout of the season, while Brooke Loudermilk recorded her first win of the campaign.

Now the team will look to continue its season-long winning streak as the team heads to North Carolina for a three-game series with UNC Greensboro (9-12/2-1 SoCon). The Lady Mocs will look to continue its regular season dominance over the Spartans, as UTC has not lost a series to UNCG since the 2003 campaign.

Head coach Frank Reed finished the team's sweep of Furman on the verge of another milestone in his long, illustrious career. Reed enters the weekend as the winningest coach in program history and is only three wins shy of 300, a feat he will look to accomplish with a sweep of the Spartans.
