Mocs Football Postgame Notes at No. 5 Jacksonville State

TEAM
- For the second straight game, the Mocs (0-2, 0-0 SoCon) carried a double-digit lead into the fourth quarter against a top-5 team, only to lose in the game late.  Chattanooga falls to No. 5 Jacksonville State (2-0, 0-0 OVC) 21-14.

- Tonight's game kicked off at 7:26 p.m. local time (8:26 p.m. E.D.T.) due to a 1:26 lightning delay. 

- The Mocs forced a turnover on the second play of the game for the second week in a row.  This time junior Ryan Consiglio picked off a pass that was deflected by fellow junior Jordan Tippit

- UTC forced a turnover on JSU's first three possessions, including interceptions by junior Jordan Tippit and freshman Kadeem Wise.

- The Mocs scored first on a 26-yard FG awith 11:37 left in the first quarter.  UTC is 3-3 when scoring first in the Russ Huesman era.  Despite picking off three passes in the first quarter, the Mocs were only up 3-0...UTC is 3-2 when leading after the first quarter in the Huesman era...add a fumble and the Mocs forced four TOs in the first half,  but only led 10-0...UTC is also 3-2 when leading at the half under Russ Huesman...UTC led 17-7 after the 3rd quarter and again are 3-2 in the Huesman era when leading heading into the final period.

- Mocs picked off three passes in a game for the first time since snagging three against Cumberland on Sept. 6, 2008. 

- Junior Jaron Norfleet scooped up a fumble and returned it 26 yards for a TD...it was the first fumble return for a TD since J.D. Dothard ran one back 51 yards against Wofford on Sept. 26, 2009. 

- Chattanooga gave up 21 unanswered points to the Gamecocks in the second half. 

INDIVIDUAL
Junior WR Joel Bradford
                - Second TD catch of the season in the third quarter
                - Team high six catches
                - Game high 76 yards receiving

Junior QB B.J. Coleman
                - 13-yard run for a first down in the first quarter was a career-long rush
                - Threw his first INT of the season in the 2nd quarter...hit on the play
                - 10-22 passing for 149 yards, one TD and one INT

Junior DE Chris Donald
                - Posted 12 tackles, including 2 TFLs

Junior LB Ryan Consiglio
                - Second career interception on the second play from scrimmage
                - Career-high 14 tackles

Freshman DB Chaz Moore 
                - Forced a fumble that led to a Jaron Norfleet TD
                - First career start as a 17-year old true freshman

Senior DE Jaron Norfleet 
                - Returned a fumble 26 yards for a TD to put UTC up 10-0.

Junior DB Jordan Tippit
                - Tipped a pass in the first quarter that was intercepted by Ryan Consiglio
                - Recorded his first INT of the season, 6th of his career, on the Gamecock's second drive
                - Did not play in the second half after suffering a high-ankle sprain

Sophomore WR/PKJeff Veres
                - Made his first his first career FG attempt from 26 yards out
                - Missed his second attempt...also from 26 yards
                - 2-2 on PATs and 1-2 on FGs in his debut as the Mocs PK

Freshman Kadeem Wise
                - First career INT in the first quarter
