Biography

CHATTANOOGA:  Came to UTC as a kicker as a true freshman in 2008 but did not see any action in his first year ... moved to receiver in 2009 where he played in nine games, mostly on special teams ... moved back to kicker in 2010 where he started the last 10 games of the year ... holds the school-record for receivers with a 385 bench ... put up 225 pounds 21 times ... cereer ended in 2011 after deciding not to return for a fifth season ... graduated in May 2012 ... last name is pronounced "VEHR-us."    

2011 • JUNIOR SEASON: Moved back to receiver where he played in all 11 games ... finished with 12 catched for 116 yards ... made five grabs for 57 yards at Appalachian State ... also made three tackles on special teams.

2010 • SOPHOMORE SEASON:  Forced to kick in 2010 due to the injury to freshman Nick Pollard ...  385 bench press broke the school record for WR/DBs ... 39-42 on PATs ... second-most PATs in a season in school history ... 3-9 on FGs ... tied for the team lead with 48 points ... Academic All-Southern Conference.

2009 • FRESHMAN SEASON: Saw action in nine games, mostly on special teams...Academic All-Southern Conference honoree...made the Athletics Director's Honor Roll during the fall semester and on the Dean's List in the spring.

2008 • REDSHIRT SEASON: Sat out his first year in the program as a redshirt...made the Dean's List both semesters.

HIGH SCHOOL: Kicker and receiver for Independence High School...named all-region and Kicker of the Year...8-12 on field goals as a senior...15-24 for his career...caught 7 TDs passes and had over 500 yards receiving...earned John Maher Scholar Athlete of the Month...teammate of current Moc Ryan Consiglio.

PERSONAL: Full name is Jeffrey Alan Veres...born August 23, 1989...Son of Al and Kaye Veres...graduated with a degree in Marketing.
