• Chattanooga played with North Florida and Georgia Southern today...beat the Ospreys by a stroke while out-distancing the Eagles by 21.
• UTC's 279 (-9) ties for season-low with its effort in the opening round of the Golfweek Conference Challenge...5th par or better round of the year...857 (-7) is a season best as well and is the lowest 54-hole total since the 2010 Administaff Augusta State Invite, also a 857 (-7).
• There were four other Southern Conference schools in the field...the Mocs nearest competition was GSU beating the Eagles by 27...topped UNCG by 36, Furman by 39 and Wofford by 40.
• 43 birdies on the counting cards is the most since 47 last October at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate...19 birdies today is the most since recording 22 in the 2nd round of the 2010 Hootie at Bulls Bay.
• The Mocs were -11 on the par 5s today, -26 for the tourney...that's its best effort of the season topping -24 at the Carpet Capital.
• Front Nine (Counters by Round): -7 (+3/-5/-5)... Steven Fox was -4 on the front side today, -6 for the tournament.
• Back Nine: E (E/+4/-4)...Jaeger was -2 on the back nine for the day, -4 for the event.
• Fox's seven birdies ties career high...had seven in the 2nd round of the 2010 Carpet Capital Collegiate...11th career round with five or more birdies, 2nd this fall...1st top 10 of the year finishing 2nd...4 consecutive rounds under par shooting -10 over that span...209 (-7) is a new career-best 54-hole total...67 (-5) ties for best final round in his career with the 2011 NCAA Colorado Regional...6th par or better card of the fall, 29th career...2nd in the 60s, 10th career.
• Jaeger garnered his third top 5 of the fall all in the last four events...4 straight top 10s - 15 in his career...6 consecutive par or better rounds shooting -12 over his last 108 holes...10th par or better card of the fall (in 15 rounds), 57th career which is seven behind all-time UTC leader Jonathan Hodge's (2006-09) 64...-6 on the par 5s for the event makes him -32 on the season...50 of his 54 holes were level or better...49th consecutive counting round dating back to opening round of 2010 SoCon Championship...now -14 for the year.
• Benni Weilguni's one-under par 71 is his 5th par or better round of the fall, 16th of his career...3rd top 15 this season tying for 13th...tied his season high with five birdies (Golfweek Rd 2).
• Davis Bunn's 71 (-1) is his first sub-par round of the season...2nd par or better, 12th of his career...birdied all four par 5s today.
• Chris Robb shot -3 69 today playing as an individual...2nd round in the 60s this season, 5th career...also 2nd par or better card this fall, 11th career...5 birdies today is second only to his six in the season's opening round which tied his career high...had 11 pars and just two bogeys...moved from a tie for 50th to a tie for 21st...best 54-hole total (222) of the fall.
• Alex Ratliff had his best finish for the Mocs since the 2010 TSU Big Blue Intercollegiate, also playing as an individual...second-round 72 (E) was his 1st par or better round of 2011-12, 4th career.
• Eagles (Counters by Rounds): 2 (0/2/0). Fox 1 (0/1/0), Johnston 1 (0/1/0).
• Birdies (Counters by Rounds): 43 (12/12/19). Fox 12 (3/2/7), Weilguni 11 (2/4/5), Jaeger 10 (3/4/3), Johnston 9 (4/2/3), Bunn 7 (2/1/4). Individuals: Robb 9 (2/2/5), Ratliff 5 (2/1/2).
