TEAM
- UTC dropped its season opener 65-59 to Kennesaw State tonight ... the loss drops the Mocs to 0-3 on the year while KSU improved to 1-2. 

- This is the Mocs first loss to the Owls in four meetings. 

- UTC drops to 30-5 in home openers in the D1 era ... UTC is 5-3 in home openers under head coach John Shulman

- KSU posted an 18-4 advantage in fast break points.

- The Mocs were outscored 24-11 in point off the bench. 

- UTC led by as many as nine - 14-5 at the 13:12 mark in the first half. 

- KSU closed the first half on a 12-4 run over the final 4:45 to take a 37-31 lead at the break.

- The Owls led by as many as 16 - 60-44 at 8:28 - in the second half.

- Chattanooga tried to mount a comeback, cutting the lead to four - 62-58 on an and-1 by Drazen Zlovaric - with 1:20 left in the game. 

- UTC was whistled for just five fouls in the second half. 

INDIVIDUAL
Senior Keegan Bell - G
- Four points on 2-6 shooting, 0-3 from 3-pt. 
- Game-high nine assists.
- Has 363 career assists...fourth all-time at UTC and just 52 away from the school record. 
- Averaging 7.3 apg this season.

Senior Ricky Taylor - G
- Team-high 14 points on 5-12 shooting, 3-7 from 3-pt. range and 1-3 from the FT line.

Junior Drazen Zlovaric - F
- 11 points on 4-8 shooting, 3-4 from the FT line.
- Team-high nine rebounds.
- Led the team in rebounding in all three games this season. 

Senior Omar Wattad - G
- 12 points on 4-11 shooting, 4-10 from 3-pt. range.
- Third straight game in double figures.
