TEAM
- UTC falls 61-52 to Furman in the quarterfinals of the SoCon Tournament...Mocs end the year at 16-16 overall while Furman improves to 22-9.
- UTC loses in the SoCon Tournament at McKenzie Arena for first time under head coach John Shulman...Mocs are 6-1 after winning the event in 2005 and 2009.
- The Mocs put themselves in a hole they could not get out of, falling behind 13-0 to start the game...UTC started the game 0-5 from the field with four turnovers...Chattanooga did not get on the board until Ricky Taylor's layup at the 14:37 mark.
- The Mocs went on a 20-9 run to cut the lead to 22-20 behind a pair of FTs from DeAntre Jefferson at 4:35.
- UTC's 52 points were a season-low
- Mocs lose for just the third time in 15 games when holding opponents to less than 70 points.
Chattanooga is 12-2 when holding opponents under 70 points, 4-12 otherwise.
- UTC was outrebounded 37-32...Mocs lost the battle of the boards for just the seventh time in the last 26 games.
- The Mocs nine steals in the game were their second-highest total of the season
- UTC was whistled for 24 fouls...tied for second-most on the year.
- The Mocs had a season-high 22 turnovers...Furman was only able to turn that into a 21-19 advantage on points-off-turnovers...the Paladins had 16 of their own.
- Furman's 10 assists tied a season-low for a Mocs opponent.
INDIVIDUAL
Junior Keegan Bell
- Team-high 20 points on 6-16 shooting, 2-8 from 3-pt. range and 6-9 from the FT line.
- 5th 20+ point game of the season...seventh of his career.
- Led the team in scoring for the fifth time this season.
Junior Ricky Taylor
- 12 points on 4-11 shooting, 1-4 from 3-pt. range and 3-5 from the FT line.
- Added boards, two assists and two steals.
Junior Omar Wattad
- 12 points on 4-11 shooting, 2-6 from 3-pt. range and 2-6 from the FT line.
- Added four rebounds.
- Career-high four steals...most steals by a Moc this season.
