- Chattanooga improves to 9-9 overall and 3-2 in SoCon
action with a 49-46 win over Wofford on Thursday night ... the Terriers drop to
9-8 and 2-3 in league play...the Mocs have now won three in a row, six of their
last seven games
- Mocs went 8-12 from the charity stripe in the final
2:38 to secure the win...senior Keegan Bell hit three of the final four.
- UTC led from the opening tip as Wofford tied the
contest four times, all in the second half.
- The Mocs' bench came up big for the second game in a
row, outscoring Wofford 24-1...paced by sophomore Z. Mason's first career
double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds.
- Chattanooga scored 24 of its 51 points in the paint.
- The Mocs had their worst showing from 3-pt. range of
the season, shooting 2-18 (11.1%), including 0-7 in the second half.
- UTC forced just four turnovers, a season-low...second
lowest turnovers by an opponent was 6 by Utah Valley (12/30/11).
- The Mocs snap a three-game losing streak to the
Terriers to improve to 16-11 in the all-time series...now 10-3 in the series at
McKenzie Arena
- Chattanooga outrebounded Wofford 45-40, improving to 8-1
when outrebounding its opponent.
INDIVIDUAL
Sophomore Z. Mason
- First career double-double notching 17 points and 13
boards in just 22 minutes of action.
- Set a career-best with 17 points surpassing the 10 he
recorded against Longwood (10/29/11).
- His 13 rebounds sets a new career-high...previous was 12
against Warren Wilson (11/21/11).
- Notched career highs in FG made (7) and attempted (9).
Senior Ricky Taylor
- Totaled 11 points going 4-10 from the field...1-3 from three...2-6 from the
charity stripe.
- 13th straight game in double figures...10+
points in 16 of 18 games this season...61 career double-digit scoring games.
- Grabbed seven boards and notched two assists.
Junior Drazen
Zlovaric
- 10 points on 5-11 shooting along with five rebounds.
- Fifth-straight game in double figures.
Senior Omar Wattad
- Came off the bench after sitting out against
Appalachian State with a back injury.
- Tied his career-best in assists with five, most
recently vs. Elon (1/29/11)...also tied a game-high.
- Held without a field goal for second time in Mocs
career...both times he hit two free throws...last time was at Austin Peay (1/3/11).
- Recorded his second block of the season...first was
against Kennesaw St. (11/18/11).
