CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The Chattanooga Mocs fairy tale
2012 golf year continued today as former All-Americans Jonathan Hodge and Stephan
Jaeger advanced through the second stage of PGA Tour Q School. Playing in
different locations, the former teammates will be together again at PGA West
November 28 through December 2 in La Quinta, Calif.
Hodge shot eight-under par 280 to end up tied for 12th on
the Redstone Golf Club Members Course in Humble, Texas. He fired a 69 (-3)
today to move on. Hodge was plus one through eight holes in the final round
before tallying birdies at nine, 10, 13 and 18 make it through by a shot.
Jaeger shot 10-under 274 to move forward at Plantation Preserve
Golf Course and Club in Plantation, Fla. His final round 68 (-3) included five
birdies and 11 pars to move into the final stage right on the cut number, tied
for 17th.
Unfortunately, another former Mocs star was not able to
advance from Plantation. Bryce Ledford, a Chattanooga area native, posted a
seven-under par 277 with all four of rounds at par or better. He ended up tied
for 36th.
"Talk about a great story," UTC Head Coach Mark Guhne
stated. "To have two of our guys this close to the PGA Tour really gives you
chills. Both Jonathan and Stephan have worked so hard to get to where they are.
Hopefully this gives Bryce a good push into next year."
There are two courses in play for the six-round marathon
event. The famed Stadium Course is paired with the Nicklaus Tournament Course
at PGA West.
