AIKEN, S.C. --- The Chattanooga Mocs men's golf team is in seventh place after 36 holes Monday at the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate. UTC shot rounds of 294 and 289 for a 23-over par total of 583 on Palmetto Golf Club.
Ben Hogan Award candidate Stephan Jaeger (Munich, Germany) is tied for 16th shooting 145 (+5) following his first round 71 with a 74. Steven Fox (Hendersonville, Tenn.) and Alex Ratliff (Kingsport, Tenn.) are one shot behind Jaeger tied for 22nd at 146. Davis Bunn (Knoxville, Tenn.) and Liam Johnston (Dumfries, Scotland) round out the team scoring at 149 and 150, respectively.
South Carolina and Virginia lead shooting 570. The Cavaliers had the low team round with a 278 (-2) on their second 18. No. 13 Clemson is third at 517.
Ben Kohles (Virginia) and Crawford Reeves (Clemson) share the individual lead at one-under par 139. David Watkins (East Carolina) and Caleb Sturgeon (South Carolina) are tied for third at one-over 141.
Tuesday's final round starts at 9:30 a.m. Johnston leads off No. 1 for the Mocs followed by Bunn (9:38), Ratliff (9:46), Fox (9:54) and Jaeger (10:02). UTC is paired with Furman and College of Charleston.
