CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Chattanooga softball's Wednesday in-state doubleheader with non-conference foe Austin Peay in Clarksville, Tenn., has been canceled due to impending weather predicted to strike the Middle Tennessee area.
“Clarksville is expecting rain all through the night and into gameday, plus 25 mile per hour winds,” Head Coach Frank Reed said. “We have been in talks with their coaching staff for the past week about cancellation being a possibility because of the weather.”
There is a chance the games could be made up later in the season, but no official announcement has been made. GoMocs.com will post new information as soon as it comes available.
Chattanooga's next series is set for Saturday and Sunday as the Mocs travel to Boone, N.C., to take on Appalachian State in their first Southern Conference games of the season. Appalachian State goes into the home-series with a 7-13 record while UTC enters at 13-11.
