Five More Strokes
Chattanooga shot five strokes higher in the season's second event turning in an 871 at the Tar Heel Collegiate. That comes after an 866 at the Carpet Capital Collegiate last weekend.
Drop Score Improves
The bad note from the Carpet Capital Collegiate was improved this week. The Mocs averaged 80.0 for its three drop cards last week, but that fell to 77.0 this week with non-counting scores of 80, 76 and 75.
Wes Gosselin Notes
- The sophomore matched his 54-hole low with his 1-under par 215 this weekend … it is his best score in a team event.
- Tie for 19th finish is his best in a team event … tops T25 at AutoTrader.com Collegiate a year ago … Gosselin does have a collegiate win coming as an individual at the 2014 Savannah Quarters Individual.
- Gosselin was -1 on the par 3's and even on the 4's and 5's.
- 36-hole total of 143 ties for his career low mark (AutoTrader & Savannah Quarters events).
Par or Better
The Mocs turned in one team par or better round and five individually over the three rounds. The squad now has two including its low mark of 282 a week ago Saturday. Individually:
- Gosselin had two with a 70 and 72 over his final 36 holes … three on the season, 12 in his career.
- Ewan Scott's first round 68 was one off his career best … 3rd card in the 60's, 12th par or better in his career … 4 over for the season.
- Liam Johnston led off the tourney with an even-par 72 … now has three on the season, 26 in his career … 1 over through two events.
- Brooks Thomas posted his fifth career par or better mark on his final card … 221 is his career-best 54-hole score.
