The Chattanooga Mocs women's golf tee lookd to keep momentum at the Cardinal Cup Monday and Tuesday in Louisville.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.---The Chattanooga Mocs women's golf team looks to continue its fine play heading north to the Cardinal Cup at Cardinal Golf Course in Simpsonville, Ky. The 14-team field features fierce competition for Scenic City's ladies.
Five of the 14 competitors rank among the top 50 teams in the nation with No. 19 Louisville leading the way. East Carolina (26) is just outside the top 25 with Notre Dame (30), Florida State (33) and Illinois (41) close behind.
Chattanooga has tallied six consecutive par or better rounds. Coach Colette Murray maintains scoring is a by-product of continuing the productive mindset displayed over the last 108 holes.
"My hope is that we can continue what we have started (with par or better rounds)," Murray stated. "If we keep throwing out good number, we should be in good shape.
"We have to continue to execute the game plan. The attention to detail preparing to compete for a win. It's served us well the last two times out. The numbers will hopefully follow."
The lineup remains the same this week with freshman Monica San Juan coming off a top-10 performance. Senior Emily McLennan leads the squad with a 71.78 scoring average. Isabella Loza (71.83), Cris Perez (73.56) and Megan Woods (74.44) join them again this week. McLennan, San Juan (76.44) and Loza boast top 10s over the last two weeks.

Last Time Out: Monica San Juan led the squad to a runner-up finish at the Pinehurst Challenge. The freshman tied for ninth turning in 70, 73 & 70 for a 3-under tally of 213.
Next Up: The team travels to Kiawah Island, S.C., to complete the fall campaign at the Palmetto Intercollegiate on Turtle Point Golf Course.

- The team set new scoring records for 36 holes (564) and 54 (852) in winning the Fall Invitational. The 564 bested the previous low (577, 2014 Web.com Intercollegiate) by 13, while the final number of 852 was seven below the 5-under 859 in winning the 2011 JMU Eagle Landing Invite.
- McLennan's win at the Fall Invite was her second. She joins Emma de Groot (6) and former teammate Agathe Sauzon (2) as the only multiple winners in school history. It was the 14th medalist honor for a Moc.
- McLennan has 22 career par or better rounds. That's second all-time at Chattanooga behind Emma de Groot (2008-11) who holds the record with 32.
- McLennan needs three pars for 1,200 in her career.
- San Juan posted her first career top 10 at Pinehurst. She set new personal collegiate bests for 18 (70), 36 (143) and 54-hole (213) scores. She tied McLennan with 12 birdies for the event.
- Perez has already matched her birdie total (25) from last year in just nine rounds. She set a new 18-hole best with her second round 70 at Pinehurst.
- Woods tied her low card with a second round 71 (-1) at Pinehurst. It gave her a new 36-hole mark at 145 (+1) which was one better than her 146 the week before.
