CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.---The Chattanooga Mocs (6-2) topped Tennessee Wesleyan (6-2) 91-63 Tuesday night in McKenzie Arena. Duke Ethridge led the way with 19 points in 22 minutes off the bench.

"There's not a lot of athletes out there like Duke Ethridge," coach Matt McCall said. "I really felt like he played the right way tonight and gave us a great lift.

"He gives our team a different dimension out there, and he did that tonight with getting some easy baskets around the rim. He did a great job defensively too."

Casey Jones and Tre' McLean each added 12 points apiece, while Chuck Ester netted 10. McLean chipped in seven rebounds, six assists and three steals which tied career highs in each category.

The Bulldogs were paced by Leland Robinson's 17 points. Chattanooga native Trey Suttles had a game-high 11 rebounds to go with nine points and three assists.

The Mocs broke it open early. Jones' dunk at 7:21 in the first half capped a 14-1 run turning a four-point game into a 17-point advantage, 27-10. The Bulldogs' Justin Simmons answered with a three-pointer 24 seconds later, but that did not stem the tide.

Chattanooga out-scored their visitors 15-2 over the next five minutes taking a 42-15 lead on a trey from Dee Oldham. Two late threes, including one from half-court at the buzzer pulled Tennessee Wesleyan to within 21, 44-23, at the break.

Much like the first half, the Bulldogs battled. Suttles' triple at the 13:00 mark cut it to 17, 56-39. It was an 18-point difference, 64-46, at 10:33 when the Mocs ended any doubts.

Four minutes later, Johnathan Burroughs-Cook's layup ended a 12-2 spurt putting his squad up by 28. The lead rose to as many as 31 before settling for the 91-63 win.

It was a high-flying show with nine dunks for the home team. Ethridge had four including a tremendous one-handed finish off an alley-oop pass from McLean. Jones had three, while McLean and Jackson White slammed one home.

The Mocs return to action Saturday at Dayton. Tipoff is at 7 p.m., with the game televised by Time Warner Cable SportsChannel in Ohio. Outside of Ohio, it can be viewed online.
