Gosselin, Thomas and Thomas Head to State Open
The trio of Wes Gosselin, Brooks Thomas and Stuart Thomas are off to Gallatin, Tenn., for the 67th SunTrust State Open Championship. The tournament, played at the Club at Fairvue Plantation, is played Tuesday-Thursday, May 19-21.

Brooks qualified for the event by tying for 14th last year at Belle Meade Country Club at 1-over par. Gosselin won the qualifier at Council Fire with a 4-under 68, while Stuart carded 69 (-3) to claim qualifying at Tennessee National.

Mocs have won the event three times in the last eight years. Derek Rende captured the title in 2007 after a Southern Conference Freshman of the Year campaign. Pros Bryce Ledford (2004-07) and Steven Fox (2010-13) won in 2009 and 2014, respectively.

Thomas Falls in Playoff at Signal Mountain Invitational
Brooks Thomas shot 9-under 202 losing the Signal Mountain Invitational title in a playoff to Georgia Tech's Drew Czuchry. The sudden-death playoff lasted five holes before Czuchry sank a 40' putt before Thomas' 12-footer just slid by. Incoming freshman Lake Johnson fired a tournament-low 64 (-7) in the final round.

Program-Record GPA during Spring Semester
The squad turned in a record performance in the classroom tallying a 3.47 GPA for the spring semester. It aided the athletics department's overall 3.11 which is a school record. Gosselin and Zac Stolz led the way with 4.0's, while Liam Johnston, Ewan Scott, Stuart Thomas and Kory Webb joined them on the Dean's List. Brooks Thomas made the Athletics Director's Honor Roll.
