CHATTANOOGA vs. MERCER
This will be the sixth meeting between the Mocs and the Bears. UTC won three matches by shutout in the early 2000s before Mercer joined the Southern Conference. In the last two, the Bears came away with both SoCon victories.
CHATTANOOGA (4-7-1, 2-1 SoCon) | Head Coach Gavin McKinney, second season
The Mocs posted a 2-1 win on the road against Wofford then backed that up with a home victory over The Citadel for back-to-back SoCon wins improving to 4-7-1 overall and 2-1 in SoCon play. It is UTC's best start in SoCon play since 2004. Chattanooga, with 18 goals, is averaging 1.50 per game and has 76 shots on goal in 145 shot attempts (.524) and average 12.1 shots per game.
Peyton McCollum leads the team in scoring with 12 points, goals scored with four and a team-best four assists.
Ellie Myrick matches her for goals scored with four and has two assists for 10 points. Junior
McKenzie Gregg second on the team with three assists and has one goal for five points She is third on the team in scoring along with freshman
Hannah Torbett. She scored her first collegiate goal and has three assists.
Jordan Mueller scored the Mocs' first goal against the Terriers for her second of the year and freshman keeper
Melia Correa earned her first victory in the win. She has a .740 saves percentage and a 1.58 goals against average. Senior
Katie Emig earned her third victory with the Mocs' win over The Citadel. She has 12 saves (.750 saves percentage), allowed four goals (1.00 GAA) and has two shutouts.
SCOUTING MERCER (3-7-1, 1-2 SoCon) | Head Coach Tony Economopoulos, fifth season
The Bears fell at Mercer in their last game to fall to 1-2 in SoCon play and are 3-7-1 overall. Mercer has 16 goals on the year for a 1.6 goals per game average while allowing 19 by its opponents. The Bears average 8.7 shots per game with 96 and have a .469 shot on goal percentage.
Maddie Clark has a team-high 15 points on seven goals and one assist and had a hat trick in the Bears' win over ETSU. Emma Tokuyama has three goals on just nine shots while Logan Culver and Abbey Reddig have two goals apiece. Caroline Smith leads the team with three assists and Jamilah Tejan has a pair. Keepers Cristina Mursuli and Leah Cochran have shared time in the net with Mursuli making nine starts and playing in all 11 matches. She has given up 17 goals for a 1.95 GAA and has 43 saves on 146 shots faced for a .717 saves percentage.
