CHATTANOOGA vs. SAMFORD
The Mocs and Bulldogs have met 11 times since 1998 and eight times since Samford joined the Southern Conference. Samford leads the series 10-1 and has all eight league decisions. In the last meeting at Samford, the Bulldogs won 3-0. At home, UTC is 1-5 with its lone win a 2-0 Mocs victory in 1999.
SCOUTING CHATTANOOGA (5-7-1, 3-1 SoCon)
The Mocs have won three straight games, all in the Southern Conference, for an overall mark of 5-7-1 and 3-1 in league play, tied for first in the SoCon standings. That is the most wins for UTC since 2011 and the most SoCon victories since 2004. After opening the conference slate with a loss at Furman, the Mocs posted victories over Wofford, The Citadel and Mercer in overtime. UTC has 20 goals on the year on 153 shots taken with a 1.54 goals per game average and 11.8 shots per game.
Peyton McCollum leads the team in scoring with four goals and a team-high five assists on 26 shots.
Ellie Myrick has a team-best five goals with two assists for 12 points and a team-leading 37 shots. Freshmen
Hannah Torbett and
Jordan Mueller have two goals apiece. Torbett is third on the team in scoring with seven points and a team-best two game winning goals.
McKenzie Gregg, fourth on the team in scoring, has a goal and four assists.
In goal,
Melia Correa has 45 saves for a .763 saves percentage through nine games.
Katie Emig has a 3-1-0 record and two shutouts while giving up four goals in four games. She has a .750 saves percentage and a 1.00 goals against average.
SCOUTING SAMFORD (7-3-2, 3-1 SoCon)
The Bulldogs, preseason favorites to win the conference title, are tied for first in the SoCon standings with a 3-1 league record and are 7-3-2 overall. Samford's one league loss is to Furman while the Bulldogs have posted wins over Wofford, Mercer and The Citadel.
Samford has 26 goals on the year led by Jermaine Seoposenwe's nine. She leads the team in scoring with 23 points including five assists. Taylor Borman and Malcanisha Kelley each have 13 points, second on the team in scoring. Borman has five goals and three assists while Kelley has four goals and five assists.
In the net, Anna Maddox has made seven starts while Katie Peters has the other five. Maddox, with six wins, has a .49 goals against average and 16 saves (.842) while Peters has 22 saves and allowed 11 goals.
