PREVIEW
Following the game on Saturday, coaches and student-athletes are scheduled to sign autographs and hand out posters and schedules.

"It doesn't matter what we've done before this," head coach Frank Reed stated. "It doesn't matter what they've done. You can throw those stats out the window. Whoever comes to play that day is going to find themselves in a good position to win."

UTC is 17-15 after a 2-3 finish at the USF Under Armour Invitational in Clearwater, Fla.

"The good thing is we're starting conference play at ," Reed said. "Hopefully we have a lot of people out there supporting us."

Six Mocs boast a .300 batting average or better, including senior shortstop Alyssa Taylor with a high of .342, and five have a 1.000 fielding percentage.

At second base, senior Criket Blanco leads the squad with 19 RBI, while senior center fielder Sam Taylor boasts a team-best 35 hits and 22 runs.

"We still have a way to go," explained Reed. "We need to get some players back healthy. We're playing some players out of position."

UTC leads the series with the Paladins 66-20. In 2015, Chattanooga went 2-1 against Furman in Greenville, S.C. The Mocs won the first two games 7-5 on April 11, which clinched Reed's 1,000th collegiate win. The next day the squad dropped a 6-5 contest to the Paladins.

The teams have two common opponents, Akron and Lipscomb. Furman lost to the Zips 3-0 on Feb. 19 and bounced back to beat them 4-0 two days later. Chattanooga posted a 6-3 win over Akron on Feb. 13, in the first tournament of the season. The Paladins clinched a 7-3 victory over the Bisons, while UTC won 6-5.

Furman is 15-14. The Paladins are coming off a two-game sweep over Gardner Webb on March 16. Prior to that, the squad went 3-2 at the Chanticleer Challenge in Conway, S.C., splitting games with Memphis, winning twice over Buffalo and losing to Coastal Carolina.

At first base, AnnaRose Borrelli has been named SoCon Player of the Week twice this season on Feb. 22 and March 7. She leads the squad with a .407 batting average, 27 RBI and seven home runs.
