The Chattanooga Mocs softball team fell to Georgia State 11-0 in Frost Stadium. UTC is 22-21 and 4-5 in Southern Conference play.
Senior
Criket Blanco had the first hit of the game with a single to right field in the opening inning.
Georgia State got off to an early lead, scoring four runs in the second. Taylor Bradley made it home in the fifth off a single from Mandy Blackwell.
The Panthers had a strong fifth inning, posting four hits, including three doubles and six runs.
Kensey Caldwell and Brenna Skalski led Georgia State's offense. They both recorded two hits, while Caldwell tallied four RBI and Skalski had three.
Senior
Anyssa Robles posted a team-best six putouts and freshman
Katie Corum followed with four.
Sophomore
Cori Jennings started the game from the circle and played four innings, tossing two strikeouts. Sophomore
Kailey Palazzolo came in for relief and pitched a full inning.
Chattanooga has its first weekend off since its opening tournament of the season in Clermont, Fla., Feb. 12-14. UTC travels to Cookeville, Tenn., on Monday, April 18 to play Tennessee Tech at 6:00 p.m.
The Mocs return home to face another in-state opponent, Tennessee State, on Wednesday, April 20 at 6:00 p.m. in Frost Stadium
