Mocs Start Week at Tennessee Tech

UTC leads the all-time series with the Golden Eagles 12-5.

The Chattanooga Mocs softball team heads to Cookeville, Tenn., Monday to face Tennessee Tech at 6:00 p.m. (E.D.T.) UTC is 22-21 and 4-5 in conference play.

"They're always a good team," head coach Frank Reed stated. "It's at their place so I'm expecting them to come out and play really hard. I hope we can find a way to do that too."

Chattanooga has its first weekend off since starting the season in Clermont, Fla., on Feb. 12-14.

The Mocs are coming off a loss to Georgia State last week after winning their series with Western Carolina 2-1 April 9-10.

"We need to find a way to get more continuity," commented Reed. "We're up one day and sort of down another."

UTC leads the all-time series with the Golden Eagles 12-5. The two squads played twice last season. The Mocs won 6-4 in Frost Stadium on March 31, 2015 and lost 8-2 at NCAA Regionals in Auburn, Ala., on May 16, 2015.

Tennessee Tech is 14-25 and 5-9 in the Ohio Valley Conference. The Golden Eagles dropped a 5-3 contest to Western Kentucky on April 13, while the Mocs beat the Hilltoppers 3-2 on March 4. The squad has a three-game series with Tennessee State on the weekend.
