Huesman Signs With CFL's Roughriders

Former University of Tennessee at Chattanooga quarterback Jacob Huesman recently signed with the Sasketchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League.  Huesman was a three-time Southern Conference Player of the Year for the Mocs and has NFL tryouts with both Pittsburgh and Tennessee in recent weeks.

As a Moc, Huesman was the first in league history to win three offensive player of the year honors from the SoCon coaches.  He posted 12,248 yards of total offense, third all-time in the SoCon and No. 15 in FCS history.  He is one of only four in FCS history with 40 rushing (43) and 40 passing TDs (64), posting school-records with 4,051 rushing yards and 8,197 passing yards.

Huesman will be competing with former Moc B.J. Coleman (2009-11) who is also on the Roughriders' roster.  Sasketchewan head coach Chris Jones (1986-87) played two seasons for the Mocs and is a native of South Pittsburgh, Tenn.  The CFL preseason begins June 11 with the regular season kicking off at the end of the month.
