The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men's tennis team hosts a pair of matches this weekend. The Mocs welcome Austin Peay on Saturday and Belmont on Sunday at McCallie's Strang-Voges Tennis Center.
The dual with the Governors starts at 6:00 p.m. (E.S.T.), while first serve against the Bruins is Noon. Fans can follow both bouts through live scoring on the men's tennis schedule page on GoMocs.com.
"We are looking forward to our home openers this weekend after starting our season with two road matches," stated head coach
Carlos Garcia. "Playing at the McCallie School with the support of the home crowd is going to be a huge motivation for our team."
The Mocs are looking for their first win of the season, having lost at MTSU (0-7) and No. 9 North Carolina (0-6). APSU also has an 0-2 mark and faces George Washington at home on Friday before traveling to the Scenic City.
UTC is 17-5 against Austin Peay, but the Governors have won five of the last six meetings. The Mocs snapped a five-game slide in the series with last year's 4-3 win in Clarksville, Tenn., on Jan. 30.
Belmont has two wins against one loss in the spring. UTC is 6-5 all-time against the Bruins, but Belmont has won the last three. The Bruins won last year's meeting 4-0 at the Racquet Club on Feb. 6, but UTC led in the three unfinished matches.
