CLERMONT, FLA. ---
Emma Sturdivant and the Chattanooga Mocs softball team kept their bats hot for the second-straight game, earning a 6-4 win over Fairleigh Dickinson on the final day of the NTC Tournament.
The win marks consecutive victories to close out the NTC Tournament and improves the Mocs to 2-3 on the young season. FDU falls to 0-5 and will meet the Mocs in a couple weeks in Chattanooga as part of the Frost Classic hosted by UTC.

The Knights jumped out of the gate with three runs off starting pitcher
Payten Price in the top half of the first by way of four hits and a UTC fielding error. All three of FDU's runs were unearned in the inning.
Chattanooga responded in the bottom half of the inning as
Hayleigh Weissenbach led off with a triple to the left-center gap and
Aly Walker scored her from third on an RBI ground-out to second. The Mocs put up a pair of runs in the bottom of the second after
Amanda Beltran led off with a walk and advanced to second on a
Brook Womack sacrifice bunt.
Maddy Adams singled up the middle to push Beltran to third allowing Sturdivant to drive her home with a single to center field.
Amy Lewis reached on a fielder's choice loading the bases for a Weissenbach sacrifice fly to center.
UTC picked up two more runs in the bottom of the third on three hits as runners were on second and third via a walk, single and ground out to begin the inning. Sturdivant ripped a single through the right side allowing a run to cross the plate for her second RBI of the game. Lewis followed up with a single of her own to drive in a run of her own, extending the Chattanooga lead to 5-3. FDU scored an unearned run in the top of the fourth on a pair of hits and a passed ball. UTC answered with an unearned run of their own in the bottom of the fifth also on a passed ball, ending the scoring for the day at a 6-4 advantage for the Mocs.
Price (1-2) earned her first victory as a Moc. She tossed six complete innings, allowing seven hits, four runs (all unearned) and three walks while striking out seven.
Alex Connell threw the final inning for UTC picking up her first career save.
Sturdivant led the way for the Chattanooga offense with a 2-for-3, two RBI performance at the plate. In three games this weekend, she hit .625 (5-for-8) with two RBIs. The five hits is tied for a team-high with Walker who has five hits (5-for-14, .357) in five games. Weissenbach was a perfect 2-for-2 with an RBI and a walk in today's win and went 4-for-13 (.308) on the weekend while drawing a team-best five walks.
Chattanooga (2-3) will return to the home field the next two weekends as they host both the
Chattanooga Challenge and
