Game Recap | Notre Dame 9, Chattanooga 1 (5)
Chattanooga played as the home team and allowed eight first inning runs, allowing four ND hits while committing three errors. Of the eight runs, seven were unearned to starting pitcher
Payten Price.
The 8-0 deficit would be too large to overcome as the Mocs only recorded two hits on the day with one of them being a second inning solo home-run from
Jesslyn Stockard, her second of the year, to make it an 8-1 game. The Fighting Irish scored their ninth run in the third on an RBI single to center.
Price (4-10) took the loss for Chattanooga as she lasted only 0.1 of an inning, allowing four hits, eight runs (one earned) while facing ten batters.
Alex Connell came in relief and tossed 4.2 innings, allowing six hits, one run (earned) in 19 batters faced.
Seniors
Jesslyn Stockard and
Katy Richardson each had a hit to make up the two UTC hits in the game as Stockard's came way of the long-ball.
