Box Score The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men's tennis team dropped a 6-1 match to Wofford today.  The loss drops the Mocs to 5-14 overall and 0-5 in Southern Conference play. Wofford improves to 12-8 overall and 3-3 in SoCon action. 

Freshman Simon Bustamante was the bright spot for Chattanooga, winning in singles and doubles action against the Terriers.  He and freshman Niklas Gerdes scored a 7-5 win over Andrew Graham and Patrick Longest a No. 2 doubles.

In singles play, Bustamante won in straight sets over Jack Thomas at No. 4 (6-4, 6-4).

"I know my team gave everything they had today and I am very proud of how we competed against the Terriers,"  stated UTC head coach Carlos Garcia.  "Even though we had dropped our No. 1 and No. 3 doubles positions to lose the important doubles point, our No. 2 team of Gerdes and Bustamante provided much needed momentum by winning their tough doubles match before heading into singles.

"Simon did a great job winning in straight sets at No. 4 to even the match score at 1-1 but we were not able to pull out the other five highly contested matches. It was by far our most physical match of the season and congratulations to Coach Ray and his team for their hard fought win."

Up next for the Mocs is the final home match of the season against Mercer on April 4. Match time in Noon at the Champions Club.
