Box Score The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men's tennis team dropped its season opener at MTSU today.  The Mocs did not get on the board in singles and doubles in a 7-0 losing effort. 

"The team battled," stated head coach Chuck Merzbacher.  "Very close doubles point with a match point at No. 3.  This MTSU team is deep and talented."

Junior Nicklas Gerdes battled Tom Moonen at No. 1 in the closest match of the day.  He lost 6-4, 7-5 in a tight affair. 

Freshman Luke Plaisted teamed with Pablo Llebeili at No. 3 doubles.  They were on-serve, down 6-5 in a close one when the doubles point was decided. 

Up next for the Mocs is the home opener on Friday, Jan. 19, against Lee University.  Match time is 6:00 p.m. at McCallie's Strang Voges Tennis Center.
