The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men's tennis team scored two wins in both singles and doubles play at the ITA Ohio Valley Regionals in Knoxville, Tenn., today.
Junior
Niklas Gerdes and freshman
Tomas Rodriguez both advanced to the second round of the main draw with wins today. Gerdes defeated Louisville's Fredrik Moe (6-3, 6-3), while Rodrigues beat Memphis's Jeremy Taylor (6-3, 3-6, 6-3).
In doubles play, Rodrigues teamed up with fellow freshman
Kerim Hyatt to take out Ball State's Thibault DeNegri/Danilo Kovacevic (8-6) in the doubles main draw. Also scoring a win today were Gerdes and junior
Simon Bustamante. They are the No. 7 seed and opened with an 8-5 win against Butler's Michael Dickson and Adrian Mag.
