Hyatt Wins Twice in Consos at ITA Regionals

Junior Niklas Gerdes run ends with a loss in the quarterfinals.

University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men's tennis junior Niklas Gerdes' run at the ITA Ohio Valley Regional came to an end today in Knoxville, Tenn.  The Mocs were led today by freshman Kerim Hyatt who won two matches in the consolation draw. 

Gerdes dropped his quarterfinals match against Indiana's 19th-seed Zac Brodney (6-1, 6-3).  Hyatt posted wins over Ball State's Marco Guzina (6-4, 6-2) and Purdue's Franz Luna (6-3, 6-3).

Hyatt is the lone Moc left in action.  He faces Tennessee Tech's Carlos Vicente tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. Check back to GoMocs.com for results after tomorrow's match.
