The weather finally cleared and gave way to a beautiful final day at the UTC Steve Baras Fall Classic today.  The Mocs got in a full day of competition at the UTC Tennis Center, coming away with an 8-6 singles record and an impressive 5-2 mark in doubles. 

"This was really an outstanding performance by our entire team," stated head coach Chuck Merzbacher.  "This weekend has shown the amazing improvement of each team member and the program as a whole.

"We had Kerim and Jacob go undefeated in their singles flights, while Simon and Kerim  and Jacob and Pable were unbeaten in doubles.  Niklas, Simon and Luke had strong 2-1 records.  I am super proud of these kids, they have worked hard all fall and it showed today."

Freshman Kerin Hyatt led the way today with two singles wins at No. 2.  He defeated UNCA's Charlie Morkel (6-4, 6-1) and Troy's Luis Foix (6-3, 6-3) in straight sets. Hyatt finished the weekend with a perfect 3-0 mark. 

Hyatt teamed with junior Simon Bustamante for two wins at No. 1 doubles to finish with a 3-0 mark on the weekend.

The Mocs also got singles wins from junior Niklas Gerdes at No. 1, sophomore Luke Plaisted at No. 3, Bustamante at No. 4, sophomore Jacob Marshall at No. 5 and No. 6 and freshman Bo Nash at No. 7. 

Marshall and junior Pablo Llebeili teamed up for two doubles wins, while Gerdes and Plaisted won one at No. 2.
