Lamont Paris, Head Coach

On turning the ball over too many times.
"You can't do that. We had 10 turnovers and were shooting 50 percent from the field (at the half). Statistics would say that's points you leave on the board just by not getting up a shot. You can't do that against these guys. They made a little run at the end of the first half, but you just can't do that. You have to fight after that."

On trying to break press defense from UNCG.
"I still think we were tentative. We made some illogical cuts. We have to look at the floor and find the most logical spot to be. Some of them are doing what we're asking of them. In basketball, sometimes you have to ad lib what you're doing based on what the defense is doing. We weren't aggressive enough bringing the ball up and even when we were, we kind of got out of control. We just weren't getting to spots that are the most logical on the floor. They pressure the ball and there's a world of opportunity to be successful against that style of play. We just couldn't find that formula today."

On failure to execute on offensive end.
"You have to make those plays. If you're going to get aggressive and throw it over the top, you have to finish those plays. We had multiple miscues on those. It comes down, sometimes, on just playing better. You have to play better. We made some bad decisions and those will happen in a game. But multiple times it wasn't the decision, it was execution. You have to play. That's why we practice. There's going to be a lot of those type of moments in a game that we have to be ready for and seize them."

Ramon Vila, R-So.-F
On what was the difference against UNCG.
"For the first eight minutes of the game we played better than them. Then they just killed us on the offensive boards and with their pressure. So, they started to gain more confidence, shots were falling, we were missing free throws and then they took control of the game."

On what to tell the team moving forward.
"We didn't play our best game, but UNCG is a really good team. We don't have a lot of experience, and we're a young team, so I try to tell them to just focus on the next game. We have a lot of room to improve and that's something I try to tell the guys."

Donovann Toatley, Fr.-G
On handling UNCG's high-pressured defense.
"We have to handle the pressure better as a collective unit. I think I had three turnovers myself and as a point guard, I have to take the initiative to take care of the ball and make sure we get a good shot on every possession. A lot of teams have pressured us this year, and we're better than where we started, but we have to continue to grow and learn to beat the pressure as it comes."

On continuing to learn & grow as a group.
"Our group of guys are a persistent group of guys. I love them for that. We're always going to fight regardless of score, time of the game left. As long as we keep that attitude, and don't let these losses take our pride and fight away throughout the year, we'll start to learn how to pull these games out. We're going to get it."
